Hole 5
The 453-yard par-4 fifth sits smack in the middle of the golf course and is the toughest driving hole of all. The dogleg left presents an intimidating target, especially from the back tees, owing to a pair of looming saguaros in front of the tees and a landing area that is tucked left behind a healthy stand of trees. A bold tee shot over that side must carry to a point 210 yards from the green to open up the ideal line. Anything to the right gets deadended into a cove of fairway tucked behind mesquite trees. The green sits twenty feet above the fairway. It’s the largest putting surface on the course, though the front quarter is pitched steeply towards the fairway and functions as a huge false front.
