A modern architect who didn’t understand Desert Forest might level this fairway today. The crowned landing area falls off right and left and makes it very hard to hold the line off the tee on this 464-yard par-4 hole. There are, however, two flat spots on the cross slope, one on the right side at 195 yards out from the green and another on the left at 165 yards out. Miss these and you’re left with an awkward approach from a low spot.
